If you don't know how to tweak your searches, a library catalog will NOT give you what you want.
Here's a tip or four:
- Use the "Advanced Search" option whenever possible
- Change search options in the drop-down menu
- Spelling counts
- If you want a book like The Hunger Games, try going to the book's page in the library's catalog and click on the subject heading links
- Any books with the same subject headings will show up
A library catalog is not Google. It won't fix spelling or come up with closely related subjects. It will be bothersome until you figure out how to manipulate it to find what you want.
